If you remove the airboxcomponents on a Honda Shadow with dual carbs, the carbs will have a hard time creating enough negative vacuum to pull in a steady flow of fuel from the pilot and main jet. The solution to this issue? Velocity Stacks! This allows the carburetors venturito be lengthened enough so that the engine can maintain constant vacuum beyond the slide of each carb, as well as allow the air turbulence to be reduced. resulting in a much smoother delivery of air and fuel emulsification to your engine.
